INTRODUCTION TO BRIDGE SUPERVISED PLAY (4 Weeks) Head spinning? Join us for supervised play reinforcing the concepts presented in Basic Bidding. It is a perfect transition into Preempts, Overcalls, & Doubles. Prerequisite: Introduction to Bridge. INTRODUCTION TO PREEMPTS, OVERCALLS & DOUBLES (8 Weeks) Ready for more excitement in your bidding? This course presents basic competitive concepts including overcalls and takeout doubles. Each class is reinforced with supervised play. Prerequisite: Introduction to Bridge. MODERN BIDDING (8 Weeks) Played bridge in college or beyond? This course is perfect for the player who wants to brush up on the bidding aspect of the game. Opening bids, responses, rebids, overcalls and takeout doubles are covered along Stayman and Jacoby Transfer Conventions. MODERN BIDDING SUPERVISED PLAY (4 Weeks) Wanting reinforcement of all those new concepts? This supervised play gives you an opportunity to apply the constructive and competitive bidding concepts presented in Modern Bidding. It is highly recommended that you use this 4-week course as a bridge to Play of the Hand Part I. Prerequisite: ALL IN ONE (8 Weeks) Bidding, Play & Defense (8 Weeks) Studied all the fundamental bidding, play and defense? Time for a review. This course revisits and expands on these concepts and explores more advanced bidding along the way. PLAY TECHNIQUES PLAY 101 (8 Weeks) Now that your bidding is up to speed, you might need some tips on how to make those contracts! This course looks at developing a plan, developing tricks through promotion and length, finessing, and eliminating losers. This course also explores general concepts on preserving entries, countering defensive plays, managing the trump suit and following through with the plan. Constructive and competitive bidding concepts are reviewed prior to supervised play. Prerequisite: Modern Bidding or the equivalent. Stayman and Weak 2-Bid Conventions are recommended prior to enrollment. PLAY 101 SUPERVISED PLAY (4 Weeks) Wanting reinforcement of your play technique? This supervised play reinforces the concepts presented in Play 101. It is highly recommended that you use this 4-week course as a bridge to Play 201. Prerequisites: Play 101. PLAY 201 (8 Weeks) Tired of taking losing finesses or watching the opponents run their long suits? This course takes a look at end plays and simple squeezes. Prerequisites: Play 101. DEFENSE TECHNIQUES DEFENSE 101 (8 Weeks) Wondering why the opponents keep making their contracts? Then this is step one to the road to setting those hands! This course presents opening leads against suit and notrump contracts, second hand play exceptions and third hand play exceptions. This course also explores defensive signals, defensive planning, defensive hold-up plays, attacking entries, and creating a defensive plan. The Strong Two-Club and Blackwood Conventions are recommended prior to enrolling in Defense 101. DEFENSE 101 SUPERVISED PLAY (4 Weeks) This supervised play reinforces the concepts presented in Defense 101. It is highly recommended that you use this 4-week course as a bridge to Defense 201. Unusual, Penalty Doubles, Takeout Doubles, Negative Doubles and Advanced Doubles, 1NT Overcalls, Lebensohl vs. Notrump, Law of Total Tricks, and High-Level Sacrifices. SLAM BIDDING SERIES (8-Week Series) Tired of missing out on your slam bonuses? Then this is the series for you! Strong Two Clubs, Slam Cuebidding, Blackwood, Gerber and Roman Key Card are presented in this comprehensive series. Bid your way to that grand slam after competing this 8- week series. Each class is reinforced with 12 supervised play hands. NOTRUMP BIDDING SERIES (8-Week Series) Wanting to fine tune your notrump bidding? This series will do the trick! We will take a comprehensive look at Stayman, Jacoby Transfers, Two- Suited Bidding (Smolen, Minor-Suit Slam Tries) and Advanced Transfers (Four-Way Transfers, Texas Transfers and Gold-Way Slam Tries). We will explore Misfit Bidding, Hand Evaluation, Common Bidding Errors, Bridge Inferences, Overcall vs. Double, Card Combinations, Declarer Play at Trick One and Common Sense Defense. ALL AROUND GAME Part II (8-Week Series) This Course fine tunes your all around game. We will explore Modern Uses of the Cuebid, Finesse or Not to Finesse, Opener’s Reverses, Responder’s Rebid after Opener’s Reverse, Adv. Defense vs. Notrump Contracts, Entry Management, Delayed Raise by Responder and Adv. Defense vs. Suit Contracts. 2/1 GAME FORCING COMPLETE (8-Week Series) This course examines the concepts of 2/1 as a game force, forcing 1NT, 2/1 inferences and 2/1 slam bidding. You will also be introduced to conventions which work together with the 2/1 system for both major and minor suit openings.
