BAND Youth Bridge Summer Camp 2011
week-long bridge adventure for kids ages 5-16. Twelve-year-old Taylor
Compton was the primary instructor with assistance from her mother Donna
Compton and Camp Counselors Roslyn Miller, Bria Brackett and Morgan
Compton.
The kids came to camp for five days - four hours a day! It was amazing the
excitement and concentration they brought with them each day. During the first
four days, they completed the 16 hour Introduction to Bridge Course -
homework and all!
The final day consisted of two tournaments (6 boards each) with pizza and ice
scream during intermission - Oh and a visit from Bob Hamman!

| Taylor presents her lesson for the day and rewards paper clips for correct answers to her questions! The kids traded in their paper clips for candy, prizes or bonus points! Prizes were awarded to the top bonus point winners! |

| By Day 3, the room was filled with questions like "Would you sort my hand?" "What's my score?" "Who's the dealer?" "How many paper clips do I give you for a jolly rancher?" "How many points do I need for a webkinz?" Thanks to our Camp Counselors Morgan Compton, Bria Brackett & Roslyn Miller for answering all of these questions and keeping the game going! |

| The kids earned bonus points throughout the week for answering questions during the lessons, helping their friends figure out the game, bridge scores during play periods, completing the take-home lesson sheet each night, being the first table to finish a board, being the quietest table while playing a board, and having fun! Connor, Kat & Sophie collected the most bonus points for the week! |
