All In One – Lesson 7

25. 2♥. Hands that are 6-5 may be bid as reverses. The proper approach is to open the longer suit and rebid the shorter suit twice. Although you are missing the required strength your distribution makes up for it. The proper rebid is 2♥ with plans to bid 3♥ on the next round.

26. 2♠. You no longer have to bid after North bids 2♣. The question is should you? Your side has approximately half the values on this hand and a sure spade fit. You have plenty to bid 2♠.

27. 2♠. When the opponents stop in a fit at the two-level your side should hold approximately half of the points. With more, the momentum would carry them beyond the two-level. When they have uncovered a fit the likelihood that you also have a fit is improved. Even though you bid correctly by not overcalling at your first turn, you should now balance with 2♠.

28. 2♥. Jump overcalls are preemptive in nature. Typically a six-card suit at the two-level.
