About John Pelletti

Personal
John was born in Johnstown PA (think floods) and was reared in Cleveland OH.
He did his undergraduate work at Miami (OH) University earning a Bachelor’s
degree in Education, majoring in History/Government and minoring in English.  He
received his Master’s from Western Reserve University and his Doctorate from the
University of Georgia.  John has taught at all levels of public education, K-12, in
Ohio and Florida.  He also served as Assistant Professor of Education at Virginia
Tech University focusing on undergraduate teacher training and graduate research
and statistics.  Subsequently, John shifted focus and began a second career in travel
with Sabre, Inc., where he worked as a Training Representative, Product Manager,
Project/Program Manager, and Customer Support Manager among other positions.
After 20+ years of service with Sabre, John retired in 2009.

John’s interest in bridge started in college where he learned by playing in fraternity
pickup games during lunch, and, although he played occasionally over the years, he
did not pursue his interest fully until retiring.

John is married to Raymond Caraway and has two daughters, Nicole (Nikki) and
Kendra.  Nikki is married to Jon Van Oeveren and the couple is expecting John and
Raymond’s first grandchild in January.

John is an ACBL-Certified Club Director and ACBL-Certified Teacher.  He directs
